I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology and completed my clinical internship at the University of Florida Health Science Center. I primarily consider myself a clinician, most passionate about providing brief, solution focused interventions for individuals with chronic and terminal medical conditions. My research has historically focused on examining the impact of eating disorders and eating behaviors on overall health. More recently, I have expanded my research to look at best clinical practices for addressing posttraumatic stress in individuals diagnosed with cancer. I hope to integrate my clinical and research experiences to improve healthcare for individuals with chronic health conditions who are also experiencing indicators of social, economic, and other health-related marginalization.
